Do you have a passion or idea you struggle to express clearly?
Do you wonder if your story is “interesting enough” to share?
Do you feel your story is “too much”?
Do you know you have a story but aren’t sure when or how to tell it?
Do nerves get in the way when you talk about yourself, your work, or your ideas?
Do you feel stuck telling the same story on repeat, wishing you could say more?

This is common and often the biggest barrier of story telling. The truth is, your story is compelling and can move people to action, if you understand how to find the power within the pieces.

Being overwhelmed with your story is another big barrier to sharing effectively. The key is understanding “why” you want to share, so you can confidently choose “what” to share.

We often hear, “my work is not about me, why would I share my story?” The truth is, if you are taking action or focusing your career on a given issue, then it is about you, and when you are willing to share why, you will build trust, grow your capacity to motivate others, and create more space for others to share their stories too.

I would recommend this program to absolutely anyone - a chance to dig deep, invest in your own transformation, and get clear about the change you are uniquely poised to make.

I was surprised and delighted by the process. I started off resistant to the exploratory questions, then found my writing burrowing deep into what sometimes felt like the wrong direction. The regular group work and practice helped to chisel out the story that needed to be told. Individual coaching by Julian, in my case, helped me fine tune the final story that I wrote, am sharing, and ever revising. Every time I read the story to myself or share it with someone, the story rings true.

The Million Person Project and their Narrative Seminar was simply incredible. The course was super well structured with a great, simple format that really helped me learn and practice storytelling in the Public Narrative format. There was a good amount of time to work on our stories in class with reasonable, light homework requests. The one-on-one support of us students was outstanding. I ended the class with a solid draft of a 7 minute speech that I definitely will use at our non-profits' coming fundraiser event next month.
